History of Rosati’s Pizza

The history of the Rosati family dates back to 1890 when founder Sam Rosati’s father opened an Italian restaurant in New York.  After the 1900’s, the family moved to Chicago and another Italian restaurant opened.  Sam followed his father’s footsteps and opened his own Italian restaurant and eventually retired.  In 1964, pizza became very popular and so did Rosati’s Pizza as the doors opened in Chicago.  From this point on; every family member of the Rosati family began expanding and opening their own franchise of Rosati Pizza.  Over 5 generations represent this pizzeria that has expanded for over 50 years with experience that lasts over a century.  Once every Rosati member owned one; they began franchising the concept to others thus creating one of the largest pizza companies to date in Illinois.

Rosati’s Pizza Product Review

I can definitely say that Rosati’s Pizza knows about seasoning!  The sauce is pretty good; but their dough is double hand rolled making it thicker, softer, and chewier than most pizzerias.  The amounts of toppings on each pizza are large making the pie extremely thick all the way around.  The neat thing is that they pour the sauce over the cheese to prevent the dough from becoming soggy.  It’s interesting to see and gives the pizza a different taste; but worth trying if you’re in the area.
