History of Papa Murphy’s Pizza

The concept of Papa Murphy’s Pizza was conceived in 1981 by Terry Collins.  However, it didn’t initially start out as Papa Murphy’s Pizza.  It was originally called Papa Aldo’s Pizza and offered the same concept of Take-n-Bake Pizza.  In 1984, the first Papa Murphy’s Pizza was established in Petaluma, California and in 1995; Terry combined all of the Papa Aldo’s Pizza and renamed them to Papa Murphy’s thus establishing the Papa Murphy International, LLC.  They have become the largest Take-n-Bake company in the world as well as the 5th largest pizza company in the United States.  A slogan similar to Papa John’s; they do require quality on every pie and makes it mandatory for other franchised stores to do the same.

Where you can find Papa Murphy’s Pizza

The first Papa Aldo’s was founded in Hillsboro, Oregon while the first Papa Murphy’s Pizza waopened in Petaluma, California.  Since there was so many Papa Aldo’s pizzerias already established; they all became Papa Murphy’s.  Currently, there are over 1,200 stores in the United States that spread throughout 34 states.  However, there are currently 14 Papa Murphy’s Pizza located in Canada as well.

Papa Murphy’s Pizza Product Review

The thought of taking home a pizza and baking it myself didn’t originally appeal to me.  I’m a “go there, eat some good pizza, and come home full” type of person.  I have a learned a new way to enjoy fresh pizza and it really is in the comfort of my own home.  The sauce is very good; a little surprised on my end, but better quality than a lot of other pizzerias I’ve frequented.  The cheese is added based on my personal preference; so the fact that you can customize is also a bonus for me.  After all, I’m a bit of a picky pizza consumer.  Is it gourmet pizza?  No, I’m afraid not.  However, the pizza is made right in front of you to guarantee freshness and it is better than a typical pizza delivery.  I would recommend it especially with big parties as it will stand out.
