History of Marco’s Pizza
The founder of Marco’s Pizza, Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco is originally from Italy. He came to the United States when he was 9 years old and grew up working at a local pizzeria. Pat wanted to perfect the recipe of dough, sauce, and cheese and worked with his father to complete the final product. In 1978, the first Marco’s Pizza opened shocking Ohio with a new taste involving the Italian dish. The one thing they guarantee is fresh products as frozen items are not allowed anywhere near the pizza. Due to the high demand from patrons, expansion began and erupted quickly. Based on the large amount of stores that were opened since 2007, Marco’s Pizza is considered one of the top-performing restaurant franchises in the country.
Where you can find Marco’s Pizza
The first Marco’s Pizza was established in Toledo, Ohio. Currently, this is where the company, Marco’s Franchising, LLC, is located as well. It didn’t take long before expansion grew to the surrounding areas and eventually spread to over 18 states. For fun, they even opened one in the Bahamas. The states that offer Marco’s Pizza are: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, India, Kentucky Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Currently there are over 200 active locations throughout North America.
Marco’s Pizza Product Review
I was a little shocked to see such a small location as a Marco’s Pizza. The one I visited only had 2 tables inside and is mostly take-out and delivery. But, the pizza is absolutely delicious! It’s a very unique pizza and clearly homemade; the dough is soft, the sauce is tangy, and the cheese is fresh. When I first saw this pie, it definitely didn’t look like a typical pizza found in restaurants. It looked as though I made it right from my own oven; that’s how fresh it was. I would recommend this place to anyone and have gone back myself a few times. In my opinion, it’s a true Italian recipe that’s been Americanized to perfection.
