History of Green Mill Pizza

In the early 1930’s, Myron Roth opened up the first Green Mill pizza.  It was established in the city’s oldest licensed pub making the location popular among locals.  However, it was initially a soda fountain and quickly became a stomping ground in the area.  In 1975, Larry Cardoni, Chris Bangs, David Bicanich purchased Green Mill and introduced Chicago-style pizza to the area.  Shortly after, the name became famous from pizza awards, newspaper articles, and celebrity appearances.  But, it wasn’t just the pizza that made it famous; it was the unique chef inspired dishes.  In 1979, the expansion of Green Mill Pizza began initially opening stores across the Mississippi River.  Since then, the name has become a household favorite within the area.

Where you can find Green Mill Pizza

The first store was established in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In fact, the state accumulates for most of their stores, 21 to be exact.  Because of the expansion across the Mississippi River, there are also Green Mill Pizza’s located in Wisconsin and Kansas.  Currently, there are 28 active pizzerias with franchise opportunities available.

Green Mill Pizza Product Review

This was such a unique menu to choose from.  I had a hard time making a decision; but thankfully the waitress helped with some favorites.  Their specialty pizzas are delicious; offering different combinations that I’ve never seen before.  It does take some time, so you have to be willing to wait.  Obviously this is due to it being made to order, so if you’re looking for fresh pizza – this would be a great place to visit.  They have many specials going on during different days of the week; so combining it with coupons will allow you to eat some really good pizza at a great price.
