History of Aurelio’s Pizza

The doors opened in 1959 as small 4-table restaurant that specialized in beef sandwiches.  As time marched on and the demand for pizza grew, so did the menu for Aurelio’s Pizza.  Founder, Joe Aurelio Jr. mixed his love for cooking with family recipes to create one of Chicago’s most popular pizzas.  Since then, Aurelio’s has grown to be the largest pizzeria in the world.  There are currently 43 franchises across six states providing the same family tradition it was built with.

Where can you find Aurelio’s Pizza?

The main storefront is located in Homewood, Illinois.  However, being that the demand for homemade pizza spread, so did every pizzeria.  Not only can Aurelio’s be found in practically every city in Illinois, but you can also locate just as many in Indiana.  Expanding in high targeted areas, there are two locations in Las Vegas, Nevada.  And to maximize reputation; there is one store in Minnesota, Georgia, and even Florida.

Aurelio’s Pizza Review

Aurelio’s Pizza is one of the best Chicago pizzas to date.  The sauce and crust is some of the best I have ever tried and I owe that to their homemade recipe.  The atmosphere is family oriented and the staff really makes you feel at home.  Even with locations across the country, each store takes pride in providing the same family traditional pizza that the main store in Chicago offers.  I enjoy the pizza very much and make sure to stop by when I’m in town.
